My wife grew up in a small town. I met her in university and before the summer break I asked for her address to write to her (this was in the 90s and although I had email by then, she didn't). She assured me that her first name and the

My current company had the same thing happen on acquisition, we had to ditch Zoom for Teams for video, but could stay on Slack. I find Teams video absolutely fine. It just works and I never think about it.

I couldn't agree more. Every time I have to do a for-each loop in some templating language instead of just using a normal programming language I want to shoot it into the sun. Templated yaml is my current pain point. Why not build data

You mention public holiday surcharges, some restaurants are starting to charge a surcharge every day, and as long as it's mentioned somewhere it appears to be legal. Check the bottom of this menu (pdf warning: https://rockpo

Yeah, this is annoying to me personally because the client I use now doesn't work, but the writing has been on the wall for aaaaaages. The client I use was pulled from the store in 2018 because they hit their token limit.

Right, that was the point of the parent comment that started this, I wish there was a web app to do this like Google has. And someone replied saying there is, and linking to instructions on how to use an iOS device, which is exactly not wha

That walks me through doing things on an iPhone I don't own, what am I missing? The familylink.google.com page lets me manage my kids' devices directly on that webpage, which is the feature I would like Apple to have. People have

It's so annoying that this isn't just a page on family.apple.com or whatever like Google does with familylink.google.com.

For most people, non-technical people in particular, their biggest exploit risk is they re-use the same username and password everywhere, one website gets popped and their creds get in the open, and then people use those creds to get into e

And I believe you can't order one at that price as the waiting list had reached several years so they closed the book. You're looking at over 100kAUD to buy a low km used one.

I worked at a small company where Engineering rotated through support. There was some value in it, but also it sucked doing it and there were other companies out there with interesting work, good pay and _not_ asking you to do support. It w

Completely reasonable to at least wait and see for stuff Google launches. Go has survived long enough to adopt. Flutter (the only reason to use Dart anymore) hasn't, and is exactly the sort of project they regularly kill off, or decide

As I understand it the body pretty quickly gets used to caffeine use, then taking your typical amount just gets you to the same level you'd always be if you never had caffeine. I still drink coffee though.

My first job out of college in the late 90s was in a large division of a larger company (about 80k employees at the time) that was being spun off in the hopes of selling it. As they were going to be made a stand-alone company they needed th
