I've had the same experience as jkochis. It happens rarely, but it does happen. The recruiter can (and should) see it as win-win. Plus, there are ways of negotiating where you can ask for a larger number and not blow the whole deal.

Yeah. I would actually love to hear their point of view on this. Surely they don't like cold calling and emailing all day but also there might be a lot we don't know about as the talent.
