Perverse? The poster was simply wondering what a phrase Bezos used in his own public announcement might mean. And I think developments in the private life of one of the world's richest men, CEO of a near-trillion dollar corp and operat

Are you a parent? You're never out of a job :). I'm 58, my parents are in their 80's, and my daughters are in their 20's, so my opinion in this matter is somewhat informed.

Well, from my perspective I've had my own blog since 2005 and still do (wordpress on a cheap vps), but the articles I publish on Medium get way more interaction, views, reads and comments.

Is it still theft if the thief hides his actions behind an alias?

I've had a couple of popular medium posts copied by a person looking to boost the visibility of his consulting company site. It's frustrating, but I think ultimately it does the thief more harm than good.

Thanks for the link to that MIT packet storm postmortem. The comments thread following contains a pretty fascinating debate involving some members of the original IETF committee and RFC authors.

You remind me of a business trip to Italy some 25 years ago, when I visited a factory outside Florence and was shocked to see small bottles of wine served in the employee lunchroom for the mid-day meal. I don't know if this practice is

Fair enough. From my perspective I'd say the mall is a success story _because_ it can still fill storefronts with independent operators. Is that a sign of impending doom? Maybe, or a sign of a transformation in progress, and I give you

I don't get this piece at all, starting with the title. What's shameful, or even mysterious? Malls all over are closing/shrinking due to disruption of the retail business by Amazon and others. In this specific case the mall i

I kind of feel like the author is referring to Zuckerberg's famous comment about young people being smarter. I don't remember the exact quote, but it was suitably shocking and stupid so it's a candidate anyway. The thing I li

I'm wary of the operator model in general, and we haven't had great success using operators to deploy complex stateful services in our clusters. But to be honest we also haven't had great success deploying them using OTS char

I get the multi-tenancy argument, for certain use cases. I'm not sure I understand the point about greater resource utilization. Presumably they mean workloads can be scheduled more densely given a set of hardware resources, vs. contai
