I'm so happy that the global ajax events are going, they were a big weirdness for me, especially in light of the custom events that were added in recent releases.

I like that the video was filmed on Dundas west + Roncesvalles in toronto. McDonald's is one of the few fast food joints around there surrounded by an amazing selection of much nicer eats.

Someday soon Javascript will have WeakMaps. They're already in Firefox. http://wiki.ecmascript.org/doku.php?id=harmony:weak_maps

I always assume people nitpicking pointless details have nothing better to say, but still want to say something . Plus, look how smart he/she looked.

That's a totally fair point. Sadly I think iOS' success just compels other manufacturers to follow suit.

What's actually wrong with Windows Phone other than it came from MS? From what I've seen of it, its a well designed well executed mobile OS. You can't really say the same of the recent blackberry os releases.

I've yet to see an RFC or standard that some developer somewhere didn't totally cock-up. :)

There is really no difference though. Whether you 'script' away a mundane task with AppleScript or an elaborate C 'program' you still wrote down a series of instructions that were run by a machine. That's the definition of programming in

You can also tell tools like JsHint to look for this common error, and not have to use _:0 everywhere.

If you use Command-T it has a mode to search buffers as well. I think its mapped to <Leader>b by default.

People actually use full screen mode on a browser? I thought we were past only being able to see one application at a time, with multiple monitors and higher-resolution screens, I don't understand why you would want to full screen most app

I know that Facebook had a number of issues trying to migrate to git. Many of these issues came from storing big blobs and mountains of code. There are code bases bigger than the linux kernel, they are often proprietary though.

It sounds like you're confusing front-end developer with designer who knows a bit of javascript. I think there is a burgeoning group of developers who build javascript/client side applications. These people aren't really designers, and ha

Much of the zune visuals live on in the xbox and windows 8 as well. WhileMS had some terrible design in the past they seem to be entering a new phase where design is at the forefront.

I have a pair of shure se315 and, I love them. They block out ambient noise really well, and have a really nice even response. I would recommend them if you want an IEM with an even tone. Only downside is they are a bit on the expensive sid

Funny they should say that. An extra comma can take down multiple versions of IE, and is something tools like JSHint can easily catch. I can't think of a good reason not to use JSHint to catch stupid mistakes we all make.

jQuery.map() jQuery.each() having their arguments has caused me more than a few WAT moments. One way I solve the issue around overloaded apis is by not using them. I just pretend .click() and friends just don't exist.

inline-block exists in IE6/7 it just works a bit differently. It doesn't apply to elements that are display:block by default. However, it works quite well on span and other inline elements.
