And what do populations with a death sentence hanging over their heads usually do? Oh yeah, they take up arms and try to invade their better off neighbours. Maybe that's a worst case scenario, but the better ones still include many mil

I think the current strongest argument against it is that systemd complains when /usr is on a separate partition[1], and what its devs have weighed in on the matter[2]. [1] https://freedesktop.org/wiki/Software&#x

The reason for having a separate /usr has long slid into obsolescence. Our storage is no longer constrained to require us to mount a remote partition which holds most of the binaries and other sundry required to boot a distribution.

That's what democracy is though. If only the right people are allowed to vote then you have a problem because their definition can change on a dime.

Yet there are many ways in which paper ballots can be taken advantage of. As an example do a search for Eastern European Carousel Voting[1]. [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carousel_voting

I think it's one thing to "know" in a cynical way what the world around you is, and another to have it confirmed by being immersed in it for any prolonged period of time. Assumedly Ai Wei Wei would have established himself in

I feel like you're moving the goal posts and using the greed caliper for measuring open-source success. Open-source doesn't need "to win", because as long as they have developers, projects go on, and as long as they have

Where does this resigned opinion that open source can not do attestation come from? Do you really think it's impossible to build the attestation mechanisms inside open source OSs?

Civilization collapse for the temperate zones of the Globe, probably not, but civilization collapse for parts of Africa and Central Asia, most likely. Temperatures are getting out of hand right now, with 50+ Celsius happening more and more.
