What makes a systemd service less ergonomic? I guess it needs a deployment step to place it into the right places where systemd looks for them, but is there anything else?

I'm not sure how those links support your "lit proponents shit on other JavaScript libraries/frameworks", which was my complain about your post, or if that would even warrant as an excuse for you personally being an ass

Small company, low volume product, high production premiums. Not everyone can afford Amazon and Apple level volumes.

As a third party I can't help but notice that the only one doing the "shitting" here, is you.

Personally I find that lit abstracts quite well some pieces of functionality that you're going to implement yourself anyway to not have to write manual <template> all over your code plus the plumbing to add it to the DOM.

I considered vanilla template initially for building my ActivityPub frontend[1], but in the end the sugar that lit-js adds on top of web components seemed worth the file size overhead. [1] https://github.com/mariusor/on

I can understand this point of view if you're an unknown with opinions where being on a platform with algorithmic feed and many users can give you some exposure. But when you are a national level public figure, any micro blogging too

Do you have a citation for this, or are you just telling us what you think that the situation should be? And if it's the former, have you actually considered the ramifications of what it would entail? Regular tourists in the US are not

Is it necessary to establish the difference between "firmware" and "software"? Most of the use-cases you listed are about modifying devices which do not run "software" per se. Phones, more and more like compute

The phone I loved the best was a Motorola F3, which was I think the first e-ink phone ever. It looks like this phone is an worthy successor.

From what you know of Carmack, does "can't give critical feedback in a professional setting without being rude or belittling others" sound like him to you? It does not to me, though granted maybe he's different in his no

Cool, looking forward to that. The extension needs a host application that needs to be installed on the machine to be able to perform some actions.

I think it's widely speculated that Google sabotages how their own products work in Firefox. I don't know if there is actual evidence to support that though.

Firefox does have profiles, to use them well one only needs a little UX sugar in the form of the Profile Switcher extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/profile-switc...

I think we can use technology to do better than paper ballots with hand counting, but one tweet mentioning 25% error rate is not reason enough for this title in my opinion. This smells of "big tabulator" sponsored article. :D

Terminals are not really targeting that entire demographic, and for the one they serve probably Mac/Linux form a majority vs Windows.

If your definition of social-media includes link aggregators, check https://brutalinks.tech . I've been working on things adjacent to that for quite a while now and I'm always looking for interested people.
