I'm still reading the article, but "Rabbit Hole" is an interesting recent series on Paramount Plus if the idea of a show featuring corporate espionage is interesting to anyone. I think it's an under-featured mini genre g

It's amazing to me how much less invasive some surgeries have become nowadays. I have some people close to me who I thought would require months of recovery get fixed up in mere weeks. It seems like one of those fields where advances h

Non-road transit infrastructure in the US is quite bad and notoriously expensive to build. I very much enjoyed using the train system in Spain when I visited. Wish we had something like that here.

I've found org-wide meeting free days once per week to work really well for handling some of this. You're guaranteed at least a bit of focus time even in really meeting-heavy weeks, and it's generally fairly well respected. I

The response showed the same server for at least two of the responses I described, but that's a good point. The edge server may have been querying different servers with different cached values or uncached values.

I've been suspicious that the post-pandemic era will yield a new baby boom of sorts. It's probably too soon to see it in broad demographic data, but just in my group of friends, it seems like almost all married couples except thos

I'm sympathetic to this town's particular situation, but I feel like using Houston as an example of the positives of no zoning was a poor choice. Many people have lost their homes to flooding in the region over the years. I think

I completely agree and am surprised at the responses to your comment. Personally, I'm waiting on a call about an adoption, and I can't ever leave my phone until that goes through. Even before cell phones, parents would leave a num

I wonder if when multiple LLMs are more widely available if there's money to be made in providing a unified API that falls back to different service providers depending on their status. Multicloud meets AI.
