Most (all?) commercial social networks sell ads. Outrage-farm bots drive activity in two ways: the bot traffic itself and human response to the outrage bait. I think the sad truth is the bots are good for business.

For anyone curious about this, the tenting solution is available here[0]. I wrote about it in my review of the Moonlander[1]. In short, in addition to much more stable angle adjustment, you get an additional 46 degrees of adjustment (11 de

I don't think this does anything to explain why 192.168/16 was chosen specifically. Three netblocks (10/8, 172.16/12, and 192.168/16) were selected from the class A, B, and C address spaces to accommodate private n

How would you express that in an IPv4 header? These address ranges serve a real purpose. edit: OP: just like the downvote button is not for disagreement, the delete button is not for karma management. Not sure why you would respond to my

It isn't an article, but a mailing list post, and the post starts out with: This is a fuzzy recollection of something I believe I read, which might well be inaccurate, and for which I can find no corroboration. I mention it solely

Citation please. It takes over seven hours to drive 500 miles non-stop at 70mph. I’d love to see a credible source that documents “a lot” of people are routinely driving this far in their personal vehicles.

Maybe its tiring for you. What’s tiring for me is that in every single one of these threads , people bring up the most extreme, outlier situations (500 mile trips) as a cudgel against EVs.

Your friend probably had an SL-trimmed Leaf. The car in the video is an SV, which has cloth seats, etc. Interestingly, it looks like Nissan no longer offers the nicer trim levels for the Leaf, only S and SV PLus (at least as of 2025.)

I've driven an EV on 500 mile trips. Getting out and stretching your legs for 20-25 minutes once every three hours isn't "super annoying." If all I did was drive around all day, every day for 500 miles at a stretch, it

They said gas over coal. If you accept the claim that GHG emissions from gas and coal are roughly equal, their claim is the other pollutants from burning coal make gas far more preferable.
