Wanting to avoid paying licenses by doing your own implementation is perfectly legal and moral. Let's say we lived in a world where there were no Open Source RDBMS, and you didn't want to pay Oracle's license. There would not

Exactly. An implementation of an API is copyrightable. Not the API itself. With a lot of goodwill, with some very generous interpretation, an API could be patentable, but copyrightable seems absurd to me.

Yeah, I agree with you. A lot of modern complexity is kind of incidental. We need to deal with GUIs, protocols, out of order execution, parallel and concurrent programming. The core of things didn't change that much, you store a bunch

Funny thing is that in the beginning of agile, scrum master was hardly a dedicated position, it was more of a role. But then, agile at that time was a movement by developers, now it became the turf of project managers.

Interestingly enough, Heemeyer has some kind of a cult following in Russia. I believe that Russians think that it is far more likely that he was a victim of a corrupt government. I find this interesting because it goes to show how differen

As someone whose major was in economics, let me warn you that most of what you learn in ECON 101 is not directly applied as policy in the real world. It is not that the concepts are incorrect per se, they aren't, but they are rough app

You need to work on improving your social relationship. Seriously. What you're saying is not even close to common. And if you see it every day among the people you know, you really need to find better associations. Those people are los
