I think git LFS is having same issues as Mercurial Large Files had in the beginning. It's going to get there, but it takes time. We're considering that Mercurial LargeFiles support is much more mature. In regards to Git vs HG. We

Marcin from RhodeCode here. You should consider checking out RhodeCode, it's openSource and supports Mercurial, along with Git and Subversion. It's built explicitly for internal usage behind the firewall.

I think Mercurial hasn't lost it yet. I speak as a creator of Mercurial Source Code management system (RhodeCode) We see that a lot of companies(our clients/users) adopting Mercurial, you just don't hear about it. Often those

I think Mercurial is also great, and we also can provide some feedback as the platform that supports Mercurial as Source Code Management (RhodeCode). There are A LOT of mercurial users which are big companies, they just aren't so voca

Interesting Approach, we did similar in RhodeCode. You can pick search refs like Branches, Bookmarks, Tags for each repo individually. With this you can create few forks and set different search setup for them. It's a workaround to do

RhodeCode has the same feature called remote repos. You can create a repo from remote one and that pull changes via a button, or api call. You can even use credentials inside the url which are then encrypted inside the database

Hi Adam, We're in constant contact with SFC, we also talked to Bradley about OpenSource RhodeCode. We picked AGPL since this is what we believed would be the best option for us. RhodeCode 4.X is totally different project now, and as fo

You should check out RhodeCode. It's no hosting platform, but hosting it yourself is much better. It support Mercurial, and all latest things that comes with it like phases, largefiles etc. Actually since BK is now opensource we might

This is exactly how voting, and reviewers concept works in RhodeCode. You have accept/reject/under review states for each reviewer, and you have to make full voting in order to merge a PR.

This is what we're actually making inside RhodeCode, we already have explicit PR updated, and we actually version pull requests, and each update of it. Imho pull requests is a set of changes and you need to track how it evolved.

How does that work with branches ? Is there a master branch required to have this file, what if project doesn't have master branch ? I think the concept of having a file in source code is flowed for DVCS unless you have so called "

There's no real limitations on making the two VC system compatible, that's why RhodeCode has same functionality for both Git and Mercurial, without making tradeoffs, that's why systems like hg-git could also work out quite we
