"How to Get a Job" would have been an acceptable title. I also would have accepted "Cloudera Shows Hiring Practices That (Probably) Don't Suck". I'm encouraged to see that at least some companies have sane hiring practices, and Cloudera is

And who's to say they were the real leaker? It's pretty trivial to copy files, it could have easily been taken from their computer without their knowledge or consent.

I use f.lux backwards. I leave it on normally, but when I need to wake up to re-focus and get stuff done (and it's dark out), I turn it off, and I feel more awake again. It's probably all in my head, but I'm going with it for now ;)

No diagnosis here, it's just what it sounds like to me. I'd encourage the OP to go see a doctor and consider medication. But it seems silly to me to rule out drugs at all, given how much effort has been put into researching and applying t

I'll say it: You should do drugs. You're describing a brain problem. It might be caused by poor diet, sleep, life perspective, etc. But whatever the cause, it's a problem in your brain; and it's probably fixable with drugs. If you feel y

I think the death ray in general is a kind of neat concept, in an evil way; so that makes sense. But yeah, it's disturbing.

We used that sound cannon truck on our own people in Pittsburgh during the G-20 protests. Nobody seemed to care much either, even though it can easily cause permanent hearing loss. If the cops had the pain ray, they would have used it just

Are the comments on mobile crunch for real or just a pack of trolls? I wonder what the actual public perception will be. Is this "Motorola stops would-be cell phone hackers!" or "Motorola puts self-destruct sequence in your phone!"?

It looks like there's a "Library", "Compiler", and "Templates". The Library looks like a Javascript library, the Compiler looks like a Javascript optimizer, and the Templates look like the GWT-ish thing that builds HTML from Java (or Java

This is the first time I've heard about the "Closure Library". Do you think this is what the new m.youtube.com HTML5 site is built in? Is Closure a replacement for GWT?

I think "help" for many people means "just get it done, and I don't care how". When I ask for help, it's usually from people who are more knowledgeable than me; and it's usually in the form of "how does this work?" rather than "can you do

So snes4iphone is $6 and it's available from a 3rd party appstore that requires jailbreaking the device. I don't know what those sales numbers would say, but I bet they're interesting.

I was just asking myself the same questions. Here's the best way I can explain what I do: I use Linode as my VPS and have had amazing results. I pay ~$20/mo for their most basic VPS and I'm currently running a web server (lighty) and aste
