The game wasn't actually rigged. This twitter account just posted lots of potential outcomes and deleted the inaccurate ones after the game.

Double spends would be hard enough that it is not worth it for low-value transactions. The operator of Ghash would have a 30% chance of pulling it off, but that problem would be solved if hashpower/pool concentration gets solved.

Not necessarily. If the installer of the machine checks that it downloaded the "real" blockchain, it would be expensive to forge new blocks to send to it.

Right, and the full blockchain via radio plus SPV via the internet would allow full nodes to use this without trusting the centralized broadcaster.

That's a really smart hack, I didn't realize comments were included in the output of Function#toString. You could do other cool things, e.g. an annotation for type checking: function checkType(f) { return function(a) {

Cool idea. I'm glad I remembered how to say "ASS". Typical morse code keyers have 2 buttons, long and short, so you don't have to worry about how long to hold it down. I think that would make this a lot easier.

People are complaining about how bad SWT is, and I definitely agree. It's a product of systems engineers, not the modern hipster-designer breed of developers. If you fall into the latter category and want to work with Java, I highly re

This can't really be viable unless it is for something where the attackers need ridiculously large scale. Hashcash was actually invented for preventing spam emails, where attackers are used to sending billions of messages per day.

I hope you realize you are accepting full risk for all your users' money by using Helloblock. You have a team of 5, is it really too much work to run your own node?

It took me a second to remember where I knew your name from. :P I used to always tell people to go to your site, once we put it up on a giant projector at a LAN party until nobody could take it anymore.

It's surprising to me that this project can get so much positive attention from developers, and even investors (according to their website). It is pretty critical that the people building the future Bitcoin ecosystem learn what sort of

The author misses the point that Kolmogorov Complexity isn't meant to be used as a practical measurement, but is just a theoretical way to think about information. There is no way to measure a string's "Kolmogorov Units"
