I'm not quite getting how can you put talent vs luck, when talent is based on luck you got from your genes, parents, environment etc. I see it as the same thing.

Are you serious in quoting a comic guy regarding such a big thing? I mean his goal is to entertain people and not to bring you an expert opinion.

>so a person with unpopular (e.g. more personal) personality traits will need to change those to more popular and sociable ones. There is a whole bunch of assumptions here. Why need? If you are ok with the way you are (you chose you are)

It's terrible that you put Erlang on a list with other languges/VMs. >There’s no GIL, so unlike Those Other Languages There is no GIL in EVM as well, but playing with the words you make it look like "all are the same"

So far Linux lacking only GUI backend support, everything else should work fine. You can still play with guy crosscompiling (as easy as `red -t Windows file.red`) and running on Wine, while GTK backend is in progress

What you show in Erlang example is just a syntax. The surrounding code or usage or approach may be bad/ugly. It has nothing to do with code quality.

To me Rebol/Red is more lisp than some other lisps out there. It doesn't have so much parens, true, but the idea of like code is data and DLS possibilities are huge things.
