Exactly! It is absurd how people hear Elon Musk say, "we will begin to enable full self-driving features..." and then conclude that Elon Musk was talking about full self-driving features. They are all just Tesla haters!

Can I host a copy of the Linux kernel on ultimate/gold? If not, then any person can make a fork of an OSS project and charge 1 cent and it is now a "commercial" project and can no longer be hosted on ultimate/gold. It is

Notice they do not define "non-commercial" at all so could at anytime decide that someone somewhere is making money off your project or by using your project and insist you move to paid hosting. It's a scam.

Completely unrelated to the original article which is just more multiverse bullocks of the stringy landscape variety. These scientists will die off and with it these articles.

It is bullocks and just the excuse of a declining number of scientists who have spent their life's work on String Theory and will never admit that the program has utterly failed as a "Theory of Everything"

There are no predictions even in principle. It has nothing to do with the predictions being at a sufficiently high enough energy level that we can't verify...

The title is misleading. It really isn't about Linus' memories of days before "Open Source" so much as trying to figure out who coined the term.

Moreover, "naturalness" is not mathematically well-defined even though many of its most passionate proponents claim that it is. This is one of the primary objections that Sabine has of "naturalness", not only might it be

At this point, both Intel and AMD press releases should be treated as highly, highly suspect. They are both jockeying to mitigate money loss or take advantage to make money. The truth is a secondary concern. I'd believe CERT, project z

Every C++ toolkit out there does something similar. Look at Herb Sutter's talk on metaclasses and see he says the same thing.

You obviously need 10^5 solar masses to make something that large. Whether they come via a number of IMBH's collapsing into one SMBH or otherwise, I don't understand your question.

Why are those two models competing? Couldn't it be that SMBH are formed via both direct collapse and accretion? Finding evidence for one should not rule out the other I would think.

There has been no claim that I have seen that Damore was dog whistling. Scott said that he was motivated to write this linked post by others who feared his previous post might be interpreted by others as a dog whistle to the alt-right.
