Great question, but the physics is still the same. The aircraft still generates lift by direction air in a downwards direction. For some aircrafts (based on the wing geometry), you can achieve this upside down, within a certain range of ang

It's not just the underside that is responsible for the circulation of the airflow. In fact the majority of the circulation is generated by the top surface.

> The second page of the article seems to address this and calls it an incorrect lift theory. If it does, it's wrong. Edit: Now that I have read it, I would have to disagree with you. The article only references the Bernoulli pressu

For those that want a TL;DR explanation: Almost all object that are airborne, stay so by pushing air in the opposite direction that they want to go. This is Newton's third law. Aeroplane wings take the air coming towards them (caused b

The authors seems confused, comparing two unrelated activities merely because we refer to them by the same name.

He makes a good case for multiplication being a special subset of (repeated) addition, whilst semantically trying to argue otherwise :D

Almost every point of significance in this article was subjective. You can go low-level and faster in Java as easily as you can go high-level, safer and slower in modern Cpp.

You can't possibly know that? Ferrari's F1 spend is not public knowledge.

Unless someone managed to increase the energy density of battery tech by two orders of magnitude, I don't see pure EV reaching hybrid powertrain performance on most metrics (with obvious exceptions i.e. responsiveness).

You could go even further and list things outside of the programming world which you would like to learn. Maybe take a step back and consider that one of the useful outcomes of learning is maintaining neuro-plasticity, which may allow you t

Some of these questions were silly and should have been filtered. Others were asked before at CppCon and other conferences. Missed opportunity here.

Being a sceptical c t, I would say that all of these items in the first list are shaky at best. "All that matters is profit" is how we end up with melting ice caps!

I agree with your general sentiment but two comments: 1) Look back at any physic journal for similar stories of experimental success (example gravitational waves), you won't find news stories of focus pieces on a single team member bec
