The NYT characterizes 4chan as a far-right message board, which is ridiculous. I mean, if giving the finger to pretty much everything is considered far-right, then what's considered far-left? Fundamentalism?

I used to buy sound effect CDs whenever I saw them in record stores. They're really hilarious to play, because there's no context to the sounds. Another reference: the BBC sound effect archive https://sound-effects.bbcr

We need private businesses (including banks) because it's the most efficient way to reach consumers. Any large bureaucracy has standards for loan/lending evaluation. Inevitably those standards become more and more restrictive and

Unions are advocates and adversarial by default, because there's no cost to being so and plenty of benefits. In addition, the union doesn't care about one unit of workers. They will happily sacrifice one store, or one industry, to

It looks like Graham Hancock's Supernatural may not be complete fiction after all! I loved his books when I was a kid - but with serious grains of salt, obviously.

IMO a lot of the commenters here are missing the point, which is that LLMs are exposed to orders of magnitude more stuff than a human. Two obvious differences are that humans also learn from the context in which they live (social, environme

You can look at the "Commercial TV" section on Best Buy's site. Westinghouse used to have basic TVs, but I see all their big ones are smart now.

You could ask, and they'll say "yes" or "no." If you have a question I'd just ask it straight out. I mean, you're at an early stage startup. It's a ton of risk for you, so you should know what you

Instead of a desk chair I use one of the pottery barn wells leather swivel chairs. Perfect for sitting cross legged, with a blanket, straight upright, and good for napping. One ridiculous thing I have is an old griffin usb volume knob that

IMO Bush's biggest win was Gorbachev. Bush was the USSR station chief back in the day, and there's an outside chance the CIA orchestrated Gorbachev's rise to power.

IMO any complicated protocol or format will be subject to crashing bugs because just verifying correct behavior is difficult. To discover bugs, just build the xyz file yourself. People tend to use tools to generate content, and those tools

Agriculture uses about 80-85% of California's water, yet when there's a drought environmentalists point at lawns and swimming pools as the culprit. In fact, ag water in the US is super low compared to residential rates, which is w
