I'm always surprised that nobody has asked the US Navy if they heard anything. It's somewhat well known that US nuclear subs hang out in the Indian Ocean, and they have big ears.

From the same article: "Like the former emergency governments after June 2007, which were installed by presidential decree, this unity government was in fact illegal, as it was not approved by the Legislative Council.[2][3] Without the

My understanding is that the ICC is only supposed to do this for countries/areas without a functioning and functionally independent judicial system. I expect the request for the Israelis will not be approved. Hamas will be interesting.

I remember the Harvard OIT people had a gopher server running on their new mainframe back in the day. They were all excited about it too. Once the web guys implemented inline images it was pretty much all over.

Yeah, let's put another server that can fail in the path of your product because more failure points are better. But at least you're not providing your user a direct link to your database, which is almost always a bad idea.

People underestimate the cost of shipping produce. If you look at banana boxes, most of them come from Ecuador (in my area). There's a river of bananas coming from Ecuador to the US, and that river gets broken up into various tributari

What we've seen with AWS (and we only discounted like 2 services) is that if you commit to a monthly spend amount on a service you can get substantial discounts on that service. There are EC2 plans as well, which I assume means that yo

The reason I ask is that we (who are super small) got a massive discount on cloudfront bandwidth by just committing to a $2k/month spend - a discount that was more than 90% off of list. For a spend their size they should be able to get
