There‘s IMO no way to recover 20h/week on that salary. Cutting the commute to zero could be something like this, but I don’t think that’s possible in this case.

We need to trigger external effects (eg on a USB-attached embedded device) and sometimes do stuff like forget a BLE device in system settings. We‘ve been looking into making a fake mouse that can achieve the latter. If you can support both

We’d need a common language in order to get as close as US states are to each other. English does work, but it’s not quite the same.

You might have noticed that ChatGPT (and others) will sometimes run Python code to do calculations. My understanding is that this will enable the same thing in other environments, like Cursor, Continue, or aider.

I was quoting you, where you said readability takes precedence over technical concerns. That‘s what I‘m challenging. Every extra function call and object instantiation has a real cost, and abstracting ourselves away from the bare metal mean

I‘m not sure that’s true with the latest models. o3-mini is good at analytical tasks and coding, and it really sucks at prose. Sonnet 3.7 is good at thinking but lost some ability in creating diffs.

Apple‘s mail privacy protection creates disposable addresses with host icloud.com. It’s not as hassle free and can’t be automated, but this could definitely be used to create a lot of free accounts. But I don’t see them banning this domain

What do you think of Elixir in that regard? It seems to be evolving in parallel to current trends, but it still seems a bit too niche for my taste. I‘m asking because I‘m on the fence on whether I should/want to base my further server

Totally tangential, but since I just recently found this out: character-number-character, like [k8s, a16z, a11y] means that 8/16/11 characters in the middle are replaced by their count. I was wondering why kubernetes would be such

That’s an interesting perspective. I‘m not sure I‘d ever be able to act on this outside of some embedded environments - even there, we now have actual OSs and the variance that comes with them.

It’s not really a tax on their profits. Consumers have to pay it on top of the net sales price, and they know that it won’t add to the company‘s bottom line. The money goes to the state every month (or quarter sometimes), deducted by the VA

Your second example seems flawed. All $30 go to Germany, due to reverse charge (where no VAT is collected in Poland).
