> written code is no longer a time sink It still is, and should be. It’s highly unlikely that you provided all the required info to the agent at first try. The only way to fix that is to read and understand the code thoroughly and suspic

I do that as well, with Wispr Flow. But I still forget details that the questions make obvious.

Unfortunately that only works with very small projects.

The questions it asks are usually domain specific and pertaining to the problem, like modeling or „where do I get this data from ideally“.

Can you give me the full content of the ideal context of what you mean here?

One weird trick is to tell the LLM to ask you questions about anything that’s unclear at this point. I tell it eg to ask up to 10 questions. Often I do multiple rounds of these Q&A and I‘m always surprised at the quality of the question

Yesterday Claude Code assured me the following: • Good news! The code is compiling successfully (the errors shown are related to an existing macro issue, not our new code). When infact, it managed to insert 10 compilation errors that were n

> The context is in the repo No it’s in the problem at hand. I need to load all related files, documentation, and style guides into the context. This works really well for smaller modules, but currently falls apart after a certain size.

What’s your monthly bill (OpenRouter?) if I may ask? I have Claude Max and always on the lookout for alternatives, at least for the easier to solve problems.

My workflow with a medium sized iOS codebase is a bit like that. By the time everything works and is up to my standards, I‘ve usually taken longer, or almost as long, as if I‘d written everything manually. That’s with Opus-only Claude Code.

Autopilot != FSD. FSD’s numbers are not comparable because they exclude minor crashes.

In case you haven’t seen this, you can just pipe contents into Claude. Eg cat AGENT.md | claude IIRC this saves some tokens.

Claude is a useful tool, IMO the most useful one even, but not a road to AGI.

Reminds me of Elon saying that self-driving a car is essentially ballistics. It explains quite a bit of how FSD is going.

Web search is super important for frameworks that are not (sufficiently?) in the training data. o3 often pulls info from Swift forums to find and fix obscure Swift concurrency issues for me.

A few thoughts on this: - I wouldn’t outsource my brain to CC when it comes to checking CC’s output. Very mixed results in my experience, and it might discourage further exploration/thinking if you’ve already performed the checklist CC

I know what you‘re writing is the whole point of vibe coding, but I‘d strongly urge you to not do this. If you don’t review the code an LLM is producing, you‘re taking on technical debt. That’s fine for small projects and scripts, but not f

Since agents are good only at greenfield projects, the logical conclusion is that existing codebases have to be prepared such that new features are (opinionated) greenfield projects - let all the wiring dangle out of the wall so the intern

The main gripe seems to be duplication of semantics across the codebase, and loss of centralized configurability. Makes sense, since LLMs can’t fit a whole codebase into their context and are not aware of shared behavior unless you tell the
