Did they really just promise fusion power within four years? I don't know why I'm seeing this on HN...it should be trumpeting and blasting through our media like wildfire. I mean, this is an article's dream - no details, extravagant claims

Is this a big deal? With my limited understanding of networking stuff, couldn't you just set up a CNAME or something? Without showing the user the full url? I agree it's a slight inconvenience, but it's not a huge letdown.

Hi RailsReady. I highly advise you to move off launchrock and use a a custom site for signups. What does it say to me about your technical skill if a simple sign up website is out of reach? You can even continue to use Launchrock, but us

Yeah, I was surprised when a torrent wasn't available. This also seems like a perfect use case for http://burnbit.com/ .

Two things - 1. This is a hard problem to respond to. 2. From what I've seen, most people on HN respond better when they see the OP has made some effort. Sort of like a homework problem. Your post mentioned very little about what you

I've seen bitcoin on HN at least a couple of times in the past month, so maybe just read a bit more thoroughly. Your sources seem fine, but I would add Arstechnica to it.

I wasn't aware of all the difficulties, I'm very sorry. This might be the perfect use case for bitcoins however...at least until you can emigrate.

Odesk you can't, Elance did not say anything about it. And that is not stopping him from freelancing himself. There's plenty of opportunities in the Hiring Freelancer thread as well. I'm not familiar with these issues however, so I'll ref

Do you know of any resources to start this? I am essentially going to do a pilgrimage around the world, starting from SF. Going to Mexico, Panama, South America, Africa, Europe, Asia, with a hop to Australia. It would be great to talk to

This is so great! I'm planning a world programming trip, and this is so helpful for that. Do many people freelance on the go like this? Considering a programmer could at least earn $30/hr, at 20hrs/wk thats $2400 / month. Clearly enough

Agreed, I've never understood the system. Publicly fund the research, but not the access. The journal's should be non-profit, and the journal should charge a nominal fee. The rest, the government should cover.
