From a hardware point of view, I don't get it. There's this laughable failure where macOS lacks drivers for the keyboard and touchpad: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=geGmC1xI4zo MacBooks also seem to be configured

In OpenWrt, DNS Rebinding is disallowed by default. Not so with many other firmwares.

Depends on what you want. If you want more features than you could possibly want or use, LEDE/OpenWrt. With some routers (Broadcom and Qualcomm mainly), stock firmware tends to perform better since no cooperation with the kernel or LED

Archer C7v2 has long been preferred as a nice and stable router. USB is slow and NAT caps out at around ~500mbps but is otherwise very good (there are a few patches around that improve this slightly). The WiFi driver for 802.11ac has improv

Wonder what this means in the grand scheme of things. Will Apple dump Broadcom and go with Qualcomm or attempt to fix Broadcom's broken driver. I say broken as I've yet to see good code come from Broadcom.

I've seen a larger amount of instability in Windows than in Linux. Having a stable ABI doesn't help much.

Most of this is limited to the ath9k driver. ath10k is blob based and seems to have poor quality control as well as poor maintenance judging from all the bugs that go unanswered.

BBR solves a different problem. The problem you have is wifi being terrible. There's massive buffering in the firmware which you can't get rid of.
