I have a niche in "make orders/invoices" for on-the-road sales in my country. The major selling point is that I synchronize the data ASAP from dozens of local ERPs/Accounting packages. A business partner is the one that

I also work on this space, and kind of see the value of this idea. Having a log store make sense, and having a super-VIEW replacement that can re-compute the data (so I can denormalize o build secondary tables/indexes that could or not

Naively thinking here, how about a 2 immutable b+tree setup: The "hot" tree is the WAL: All the data is there and copies are generated. The "cold" tree is behind: In the background move from WAL and at the same time comp

TurboPascal and other Borlands IDE were great, but just a lesser version of FoxPro! With FoxPro, you have the features of them, but also, RAD form/menu/table/report builder. Like "Let's add MS Access to your IDE&quo

> So why does Austral use linear types, not affine types? Because linear types are simpler. The major reason here is that you don't need a "fancy" inference engine of lifetimes like the Rust borrow checker.

Oh, cool. I made my own attempt at the same kind of idea at https://elmalabarista.com/blog/2022-flat-tree/ . Is pretty simple actually. What I have observed (and my tree exploit) is that most tree are "too muc

A particularly well-suited project is to make a (mech) keyboard. It is good because the basics are simple, and you can "complicate" it in any dimension: - Weird shape? Check - Add a trackball? Check - Crazy layout? Check - Add a m

This in fact shows one of the artificial limitations of SQL (and not of the relational model): It does not have a `GROUP BY` functionality! What `sql` calls `GROUP BY` is `SUMMARIZE`.

I have nothing super finished, this is for fun (until I get time or funding!). But I bet is far more reusable than normal code in most cases. The reason is that the relational/array model has more values: https://www.infoq.c
