My "shallow" understanding is that "gypsy" seemed to be related to "egyptian", because of their looks. Others point to 13th-14th century ottoman invasion bringing troops from South Asia that were forced to move

Thank you for your article. I now know more than about my country than before. We have similar ghetto in my home city Burgas, but due to my grand-father working in the area, and my mom too - never felt that much threatened.

Ditto. Also your debugger of choice (Windows again). I can debug C#/C++ in one app (or other .NET language). It's bit of pain for anything else (granted, Rust, I'm told should be good). Then you have the build process, vendor

We've hit a performance problem with multi-socket setups (NUMA) - basically one core talking to the other's core memory (different sockets), hence slowdowns. And it's amplified by the use of atomics (shared_ptr, etc.). What w

I actually love that - it's very personal, fun, loving, something that you've endured and made it happen. Simply love the naming. Just "imgui" is not going to make it, although "imgui" now is mostly associated

Games also require said GPU computing power. Lots of UI may have to conserve power/energy - think about some IoT device that may not even have GPU, and need to use as little as possible energy.

That's how normally you write "imgui" style of app - that's the whole idea - you on purposes couple state+behavior+ui in one piece - e.g. if(checkEvent()) drawSomething(); else drawSomethingElse();

This also has been one of my biggest gripes with "imgui" style of libraries - as the end of the day something needs to keep state somewhere, and implementations/hack can be very language/runtime oriented to avoid hacks l
