I became a programmer because I like to write code. Having an llm write code for me is like building a robot that eats cake.

A lot of people in this thread seem to enjoy the taste of boot and are spending a lot of words trying to say the OSA isn't a big deal. A bit of a sad attitude for a forum called HackerNews. This is massive overreach by the government,

All those parents that couldn’t use parental controls to limit what their children see in a browser are not suddenly going to start policing VPNs. This is terrible legislation wrapped in terrible advice.

It's not really practical but I would take the bet that I will never /intentionally/ buy a game with AI generated assets. I just don't see that AI generated art has any value to it. I'm sure you could sneak some pas

Have to agree. I don’t think we should stop ai progress, just that I think we built a bad thing along the way. I will never buy a video game that I know has ai generated content, I want to see some art, not a soulless prediction of what art

Ah yes, my memory clearly didn’t want to keep that bit. It sort of made sense in the context of having a tiny number of people left. I read another book called Dark Eden that had some similar problems.

I read this book and liked it, but I don't remember anything really bad about the last chapter and having a quick scan of the linked page above, I don't see anything really out there. What am I missing?

Part of my work is rapid prototyping of new products and technology to test out new ideas. I have a small team of really great generalists. 2 people have left over the last year and I didn't replace them because the existing team + cha

It's alright. I played a couple of games. It's very pretty. I don't like the age system, just seems like throwing away your progress each time it resets. 4>5>6>7

I keep trying to use these things but I always end up back in vim (in which I don't have any ai autocomplete set up.) The AI is fine, but every time it makes a little mistake that I have to correct it really breaks my flow. I might typ

I know a lot of console fanatics like that and they all like to keep games on disc, shunning digital. The new ps doesn't seem to have an optical drive so I'm really not sure who they're aiming this at.

I work at google and I use google products. Sure, some giant automated heap of code is processing your data and deciding how many grammerly adverts to show you, but your data is about as safe as it can be from loss or from humans. There are

If a job interview requires this and you choose not to apply then that is entirely your choice. I think the problem highlighted in the comment above is that some people do actually want that job, but don't do the required work because

Random data point, I had a laptop from Tuxedo and it was great. Everything worked really well and I got a very powerful machine with 64Gb of Ram for a very good price. I will probably buy one of their Arm laptops.
