Then why aren't you teaching? Go spend a few years teaching in a public high school and report back.

I've lived in Oregon, Washington, Nevada and Colorado and I've seen and lived in plenty of places with basements.

You still have to spend time adding content. I enjoy doing that, but not everyone has the time.

I wonder if it all gets lost in HR who looks at their hiring listing and sees there is no opening and disregards it.

When you say art is a way to give life meaning, in what way do you mean that? I ask, because for me, art, as ambiguous of a term as that is, has been a means to give me meaning in the moment. It later acts as a memento of those moments. A s

As a former CS teacher the real barrier is finding qualified teachers. Most schools, even international schools which pay significantly better, seem to have math or science teachers with little or no coding experience filling the role.

It's funny you mention vertical videos. I'm currently working on a toy project using MobileNet which classifies YouTube thumbnails as clickbait or not, as per my preferences, and I classify every vertical video as such. It needs m

I normally agree, but there are times when I want a short video. For example, my wife makes crochet and knitting videos. She has series which are 30-60s long and cover one technique. The opposite are people who want to waste your time with

This seems oddly similar to the arguments made by fraking companies when asked about polluting water tables and such.

I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not. "Let's destroy the environment to make tech to save the environment," does not sound like a great idea to me.

He's saying it rains and the car gets clean. I only needed to rinse my car off once a year, max, and did that with a garden hose. It was fine otherwise. Car washes are a waste.

If the US built public transport and changed zoning laws it'd get density.

Do many people, when older, get upset about the lies their parents told them about Santa, The Easter Bunny and such? I'm skeptical these sorts of childhood lies cause any issues.

In the US it's common to see police out in areas like that. I looked it up and it seems NYC and Tokyo have the same number of cops.

I have hardly ever seen police patrolling. Traffic cops at intersections, but beat cops or cops at malls, train stations, etc.. seem rare.

Not necessarily. There are places where crime is low and so is police presence, like Taipei or Tokyo. It's part of culture which is actually adhered to by most.
