What is your location? Here, in Poland, its mostly the kids bringing infections home. I usually expect at least one week off due to sickness in early fall, and then proper flu (taking around 10 days) in december/january. This is the no

Of course it's not that simple. This "IP address pop catchment" thing is an area of active research. Even we do weird things, like: https://blog.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-servers-dont-own-ips-...

Random memory access is really slow (compared to CPU speed). Therefore it's strictly faster to do exactly one random memory fetch (hashtable) than many (bloom filter).

This is a big deal. With some tooling around it can be amazing. I can think of using this for testing, and as a vehicle to change a programming paradigm of existing/legacy software (run a thing, and roll it back aggressively from outsi

Can you vectorize this with SSE. Most of the magic could be done with vector of four 32 bit integers. The question is if the cost of setting up the initial vector and extracting the result isnt prohibitive.

I think the date selector is a must. My biggest timezone confusion happens during these two weeks when the US changes the daylight and the EU is not changed yet. So... during the two weeks in a year 9:00am SF time is not 18:00 EU time.

Yeah, in i386 syntax there is no way to address EIP directly. poping EIP from call is a common trick. In newer processors there exists a cache for return addresses Return Stack Buffer (RSB). But there is a penalty for doing call and never d
