I want something like mailhero combined with a paid email provider like proton mail. Everything sent to $name@$spamkey.$mydomain.$tld would act like a mailhero address and forward to my personal address.

How can you make sure level3, AWS, DO or anyone else doesn't log everything too ;)

I've seen a video of someone who rewired their transponder in NYC and showed it actually got scanned at every second intersection. You can do something similar with yours. I'm not too worried about it per se, since a camera can

Employers are more willing to hire risky people if it's easy to fire them. If it is not, large vetting processes are required and hiring people reduces. Because making a mistakes costs so much. It's even worse for small busines

You can still buy cheap aerons on craigslist today, no dot com bust required.

That 3% that the seller 'pays' for is really yourself paying for it. You could probably negotiate that fee away if you didnt have a realtor on your side for example

You can hire a lawyer and pay a flat fee for labor if you want to avoid the percentage comission model. There are also discount brokers out there that take less. That can work if your more DIY about buying and selling houses.

Being perfectionistic about calorie counting is not necessary. It still works. The approximate measure is quite enough. And if you don't have the time to do it, just eating from chains that already do it for you works quite well.

Myself and many others? I've been doing it for the past few weeks and I lost a bunch of pounds. A few weeks before that I was eating at chipotle everyday and was getting similar results. Try not to lose weight eating only 1600 calorie

7 year cycles is a pretty long term horizon. That is almost a decade each time, and keeping the weight off in your 20s is easier than it is in your 30s hormonally speaking. Same thing with each subsequent decade.

Thats a fatalistic attitude to weight loss advice too. Weight loss advice can be complicated, but calorie counting and eating at subway everyday really does work.

I lost a bunch of weight with calorie counting and then gained it back after 2 years. But I'm fine with that. I started losing it again recently and I've already lost about 8lbs. After you do it a few times it gets easier as yo

I use arq & amazon cloud drive unlimited for $60/year for about 1TB. I also have a local NAS as the 'on-site' backup destination. I would like to use borg backup, but it isn't as flexible as arq.

If you can avoid using a dylib on iOS, I would do it. It effects startup performance time. Just make a static version and compile it into the binary?

The vegan / vegetarian thing is more a culture thing than a developed nation thing. You can find that food relatively easily in buddhist and hindu nations for example, even though they are mostly developing nations.

by mahyarm 10y ago
America should not be comparing itself to developing nations, but other developed nations. In that they fall short in many things.

Other than going to the DMV once a few years, buying a house and flying, I rarely if ever use a government service that isn't transit. When I first come in I use a lot of government services, such as getting a bank account and an SSN

I find the skyscraper comparison actually quite apt. You build an app that is 10 features, while the main facebook app itself is 100s of features. When you build a building that is more than 20 stories high, you have to change everything

In this hypothetical situation, lets say it's because the countries that the occur in want a cut of the proceeds, so they force the sale of these metals to be in their country. And instead of rare earth metals, lets say it's iron?

by mahyarm 10y ago
So if you have a rare-earth metal commodity ETF that can be dug from the ground in conflict areas and have exchange markets in these wild areas, would the SEC deny that commodity ETF then because they wouldn't have surveillance-sharing
