It's very easy to become homeless when you get the 1-2 punches of illness and divorce. A friend of mine went from riches to rags within a year that way.

Folks, recursive data-strcutures are CS101. Processing them is also a trivial, template-filling exercise. First you specify the (recursive) datatype, consisting of the simple "leaf" elements, along with the complex forms. Then you write you

That guy is huge in China. He is on CCTV stations almost nightly. Has multiple shows. Lectures extensively. He even speaks at very swanky government events, and the big pep-rallies they had before the Olympics.

I couldn't wait long enough, so I got a Huawei Ascend D1 Quad. It out specs almost every phone in the market. The brand is virtually unknown, so they threw everything on this quad-core 1.5GHz machine. It upgraded itself Android 4.0.4, and i

Typed Racket's static-dynamic is due to its module system: modules allow for seperate compilation, and the type-checker accepts accepts fully typed modules, not mix-code fragments. However, Siek's Gradual Typing does handle mix-type expre

This is actually a myth. Arabic is not more or less "expressive" than any other language. It's just language communities evolve richer vocabularies for their subjects of interest/specialization. Arabic saw feverish interest in philosophy an

Neat. I also wrote a bunch of Arabic Lisps, most toys that went nowhere :-) My biggest obstacle has so far been language itself: I think I'm too much of an Arabic snob to settle for simple, dictionary translation of some technical terms.
