Actually, for me, the WooThemes Playground was what got me to purchase a theme. The Playground lets you try out all of the the themes WooThemes sales for free on a temporary hosted WordPress blog on their site. If you like what you made, yo

http://www.gigaom.com/ is a fairly good alternative. Balanced coverage of startups and new products from existing companies, though they do tend to cover more enterprise tech.

I think it's the free updates that get WooThemes at least part of their loyalty. While some like the subscription model, many more want to buy a theme and know it will always work. With WooThemes, they can. In fact, they can buy a theme and

Ok, right. I wasn't contradicting that the Air page is customized, just was saying that the menu is change. I see what you were meaning now. Sorry!

True ... which is exactly why I think it's publishers, not authors, that stand to lose the most from this. When smart authors start selling eBooks cheaper directly on Kindle et al., that's when the real book transition will start. At the ve

The page background color is different as well. It was white before, now its #F2F2F2. The new top-level menu looks nice, too, but somehow it just doesn't look "Apple" to me. Maybe I'm just too used to the old site...

There's another way to look at it. eBooks sales, whether in Kindle, iBooks, or another marketplace, end up with similar dynamics to the App Store in iOS. People have paid $0.99-$4.99 millions of times over for apps such as Angry Birds that

You've got a much nicer design now, and the live editor is rather nifty. However, I really can't see many people using it, especially not at $9. It doesn't take much HTML skill at all to make a single page like that, and then there's tons o

I use FlashBlock, and block all Flash by default. Then I just override it for Flash elements I actually want to see. That, and, I do a lot of browsing on iPad now...

You're 100% correct here ... That's exactly my experience of downloading Chrome in Thailand. Plus, even if you add Google serch again fresh, it doesn't do instant search from the address bar. It's maddening to say the least!

Hey, we still keep a prepaid Nokia around for basic phone calls. If you're just needing to call someone, they still get the job done, and oddly enough, the calling experience is often better (better sound) than on a smartphone. Plus, it has

This really spooked me at first ... Just by reading the title, my first thought was that their servers got hacked maliciously and my financial data I just added today was compromised. I'm glad to see it was something more innocent :) Talk a

Ah, ok, I see. Now how did it become a dead post? Really odd ... I didn't use a referral code in the link, so you wouldn't think there was anything about it that would get people to flag it. Very odd. I've commented on very old posts before

There's only a handful of apps on iOS that include a save button, and even of those that do include one, DocsToGo is the only one I can think of that uses a floppy for a save icon. It might be gone before you know it ... though I'd guess y

The multiple pages feature in mobile Safari definitely needs improving; half the time it reloads the page when I go back to it. Actually, improving mobile Safari, especially on iPad, should be Apple's #1 focus right now IMO.
