Yet-another-whining-about-college-education. Frankly, this is the most appropriate place to scream, "get a job, man." I never understanding these complains about how bad college education is. We talking about America here, the lan

I think the fundamental problem is this: programming is not computer science. Think physics vs mechanics, or biology vs medicine, or theory vs practice. Nobody will expect a physicist to fix their cars, or a biologist to cure their sickness

You know what I love about these kinds of posts and articles? It's their awesome logics: private entities (who, naturally, seek to maximize their profits) are damaging net neutrality (to make profit); therefore, we should limit the gov

sigh I once read that Americans over-estimate children and under-estimate age (and expertise in general). This shows so well. Can children enjoy food? Music? Play music properly? Pursuit passions? Spending days glued to a book? Of course,

Interestingly enough, discreet mathematics is also math. Surprisingly enough, every single programmer uses that thing everyday. So math is useless.

Here is my wish: a system that collect money from me (a few bucks a month, says), and spread that money to different projects according to how much I use/like them. That would be awesome.

Here is the interesting thing about the US (I almost typed America, but we all know America also includes places like Canada and Mexico and Chile, etc.): everyone believes that s/he is in an counter-culture. By that I meant every single per

This is sad. Really sad. My personal opinion is that Americans just dislike academic matters so much that they are incapable of forming a coherent solution for their children's schooling. Let me tell you some personal anecdotes. I moved to

The thing is, if the semicolon is optional, you can't write more complex expression. For example, if you want to sum a bunch of numbers, you can't have the plus signs at the beginning of the lines anymore.

I chose Python not because of the language itself (in fact, it is not that different from a bunch of languages that I love), but because it is a preacher under the cloak of a language. I mean, yes, by default, I do a lot of things that Pyth

The current state of "design": 1. If it is Apple, it is perfect 2. If it successfully emulates Apple, it is awesome 3. If it tries to emulate Apple, it is good 4. If it is different from Apple, it is bad, devil, unintuitive, terrible, be-da

This article is a proof of the stupidity, ignorance, and general jerkiness of an Apple user. It's like, the world must resolve around some standards set by Apple because it fails to deliver a system that actually works. Oh, and never mind t

I think this essay is bull. As someone points out, it is yet another I-am-so-good-that-no-one-wants-me things that LISP people love to throw out. Maybe THIS attitude ("Lisp is Olympia and I, the proud user, is Zeus") is why. Let's be frank,
