Yep, you are correct -- this is a form of subsidies. Other countries do this (or used to do this) with things like long distance and local telephone charges. Higher income regions (although this is not based on income but on region) would p

I am thinking that the 3 countries you had mentioned are the 'vanguard' of the 'isms' in the western world, not because the populous there initiated these ideas -- but because these places are chosen to be the 'tes

I feel good and bad about this. I invested several years at coming up to speed with Java 8+ (using templates, rx, streams, the new time APIs). It was not hard, but difficult to unlearn some C++ idioms around templates, consts, reference mod

Only link to your paper that I was able to find is https://dblp.org/rec/journals/isci/Waite99 but there are no PDFs that I could download without payin 37.95 $USD at ( https://www.sciencedirect.com

Another alternative, I think is D-language bindings to QT (or betterC which is a subset of D allowes to use D with C runtime library, while retaining D-s class system, templates and memory safety). [1] https://github.com/MGW

what do you think about Org2Blog [1] (it supports math notation as well as integrated publishing from orgmode to wordpress) ? I would like to minimize my learning curves, so wanted to get a performant blogging service installed on a 2.50$ V

Wouldn't React-native-web ( https://github.com/necolas/react-native-web ) qualify into this list ? It offers APIs compatible with React-native (which is obviously a huge time saver for cross platform UI dev). Its

Very nice. They seem to be tracking React's API changes. The original Inferno developer, I think, moved to work at Facebook. So the new maintainer seems to be keeping the effort well and healthy. It is nice to see same well thought o

I do not have experience with clojurescript or Om. However, I very frequently switch between React-Native-Web, React-Native & Android SDKs. In my view, React team actually -- discovered a paradigm that's really good and workable.

@isakkeyten I would look at a 'crossing' between a functional programming language, and a multi-platform OS GUI toolkit. Because significant portion of your learning/cognitive effort you will be spending on understanding the

I agree with you, that for the same 'business logic', having it JavaScript vs native, unless you do lots of sorting/copying of data -- will not have battery impact difference. However, React itself (not the javascript engine)

I strongly agree with the 'cognitive overhead' comment. I think, a number of challenges that Redux and MobX are intended to address, can potentially be resolved in more elegant and easy manner with the new (16.3.1 and above) Conte

WRT #2. Data isolation argument. it is not clear to me, why data isolation is your view, is exclusive to microservices. I have build non trival RBAC+ABAC authorization platforms, using PDP and embedeabble PEP, and did not find that it was

I think these are appealing for 2 reasons: 1. There is a believe, that component isolation (taken to extreme by microservices) enables better productivity of the development department. That is more features, more prototypes, more people

Thank you for the quick overview. I also got interested in Lojban. I am trying to incorporate the learning of the language in to some of my routines. For example, for software projects, where I can, I use Lojban named classes, functions, te
