The free choice of train does take this into account. You just need a (single!) ticket that, overall, will expectedly suffer from a delay long enough.

Nitpick: Unless it changed, you cannot upgrade from regional to interregional vehicles. You can upgrade from IC to ICE, though, and in general, the free choice of vehicle on your route is very useful.

No joke: 15 years ago, when I was riding DB trains regularly, I got whole packs of refund forms. Took a while to find someone who would not refuse this request. I built a rudimentary transparent template in latex that had my name, address,

Your parents have a point. I've been switching most of my family's PCs to linux in the past few years and I miss Office. It is as easy to use as OnlyOffice and as powerful as LibreOffice for my tasks. There exists no equivalent on

Don't close your eyes from reality. I am forced to use a phone app to log in into any of the several banks that I use. There is no web version.

I'd argue the opposite. Nora's approach demonstrates that simple ideas work great for getting half of the problem done, but can make it impossible to finish the second half.

How much do you wish it? A modern LTO tape drive is 4000$ or so, plus tapes for 5$ per TB.

One would think properly reviewing one of the most important addons in Firefox would warrant spending sufficient resources, which Mozilla seems to have for less impactful stuff.

I've switched all my machines to linux in the past couple years. I say with confidence that you will never be able to do file operations as quickly in a terminal as you could in a good GUI, like the Explorer from Windows 2000.

The year is 2041. Google announces that only a negligible fraction of users acceses websites outside of the clean pool. These users are at risk, they claim, due to "all the bad stuff on the free web". They refuse to clarify if thi

I think there is no real doubt that the fact is true. What you perhaps refer to is the rate of change, and I'd agree with you that the US is doing far worse in that regard.

My name is X and another person also named X tells me to gather their documents from the office. Other X also signs a paper for me that says I'm allowed to do this. I ask the office clerk: "Hi, I'm here to retreive the docume

I'm done discussing this. You are entirely blind to failures of the Israeli government and you do not see Palestinian lives as worth saving. There is zero reflection.

The problem I have lies less in killing human shields employed by Hamas (which is a terrorist/war crime). The bulk of the genocide is what happend after Isreal's invasion into Gaza, and after Hamas was effectively eliminated as a

I don't like or condone what Hamas did at all. Their crimes should not be ignored and I never said so. They should all be in prison and stay there. But that someone did something horrendous against my people does not make it right for

Even assuming that the points you present are all factual, your (more than) eye-for-eye position does not align with Western and democratic values. He is a murderer, so kill him for his crimes, and kill his familiy and friends, too, because

Fwiw, I fully agree with you. Any MS Office between 2000 and 2013 was consistent and easy to use with some experience. LibreOffice is not. It has such a strange UI and has needlessly complicated or convoluted ways to do things. It feels lik

This is simply not true. And even if it were, far worse things have been said without complaints on channels aligned with MAGA for years, so it cannot be a sound foundation for such a sudden and drastic action.

No need to even use police corruption. A brief look at the current US government, and how it suddenly came to be in the freeest and most democratic of countries, ought to suffice to show why not any government should ever get a free pass.

Voting is used when the systems are equivalent, e.g. 3 identical computers, where one might have a bit flip. This is completely different from systems that cover different domains, like vision and lidar.

The Right-leaning has a relevant influence on media because some of its supporters are affluent and it is in their financial interest. Ex: Bezos bought a newspaper. The same is far less often the case for the Left-leaning. There are few &qu
