Isn't this something that has been shown in history time and time again? Look e.g. at recent German history: Nazis abused data collection to find and kill Jews and political opponents, and soviet Stasi invaded privacy to find, imprison

Well, you could design an open API that others can use, too (server-side, not client side!). So the device can work with competitors, too, meaning it won't require an account at only one company. That would be a compromise - at least i

You assume people know that 2to3 exists, and that they will all the time use it to fix copied code snippets. I think neither is true.

It's an experimental feature. If it works well for a while, it may become part of the default. But it should definitely not be forced on everyone if it's not yet sure how well it works.

I can't even downvote on this site, but I think it is because your post seems to say Google News copies news without a link to the source, which is not the case.

Leela Zero used some commercial providers for training. Mostly, we used the free offers for new GCP/AWS/etc members, so it's only a certain fraction of course. To provide an order of magnitude: There are about 20m training ga

It is indeed independend and has a lot of nice ideas and theory contributions. It turned up after I stopped actively competing in computer Go, so I can't tell how strong it is. It certainly has a lot of potential and I'd probably

I'd like to highlight that "passively listening" was written intentionally. As soon as an attacker becomes active, he's at an incomparably higher risk of being detected.

Look, I'm on your side, but what you said is just wrong. The GC prohibits poison gas, not tear gas. And if the safety of the officers and/or the "mob" is in danger, dispersing the crowd if perfectly reasonable. Because t

I don't get it. Assuming that a passivly listening attacker has broken TLS, additionally hashing at the client is helpful. The service at hand is now (most likely) insecure, but at least other services do not suffer from the plaintext

Is this the same as what is applied for covid patients? Elsewhere it was stated that for covid, the dosis is increased 14x.

Isn't the problem that it was so far used in a quite different dosis? The covid applications seems to increase the limit 14x. That's reason enough not to carry over the established safety status.

I don't think you would be comfortable pushing this few-hours-hack to a system of such high importance. A mistake, be it stupid or complex, could break far more than the issue at hand does. And you would be at fault. Would you like to

Many people here pointed out a problem: Removing access for the ISP and/or device manufacturer means they cannot fix bugs remotely and automatically. This is bad in situations like when the Mirai malware hit. How about this?: "You

The puzzle itself contains enough contradictions that a single answer is forced. So it is unclear from the question, but the result is definite: There is exactly one answer. (Of course, that fact is not obvious.)

In e.g. Windows 95, there would often be a box around the text. Since the bottom of that box would not be visible, it would indicate that something is missing in that direction. Now that boxes (and other visual indicators) are gone, this ki
