As far as I know, no vector equivalent of cyclosm has been made. OpenMapTiles's data are too poor ("compressed" : different cycle way types are summarized in a unique tag) to make a great cycle map.

Related : I'm building https://github.com/laem/cartes , an alternative to Google Maps. On top of a custom protomaps tileset and a few other MapTiler options (such as satellite and hiking), it packs a search engine,

Yes, I've switched to Bluesky. After investigating their protocols, Bluesky fits my needs way better. I'm quite convinced now Mastodon will never leave the tech sphere.

I'm sorry but I'm 100 % involved in a big open source project (rebuilding google maps). Why would I spend time hosting an instance of mastodon ? I'm happy to pay for it. Bluesky says it's 10 cents per user per year. Happ

> This means migration is next to useless. Well not completely. Lots of people see microblogging as the daily rant, the cat pictures. For them, it's not a big problem. But for people like me that use microbloging as a way to publish

In 2018 I spent 1 year with my Samsung Galaxy S8 as my only computer. Developed a big national website and a new programming language from Termux. Going to work with only my computer in my pocket was awesome. No sync between devices anymore

Worse : my old instance had its backup down for months. Also, no GIF support. I asked the admin if he was wanting to get my help, or some funds to help for the servers. Said no. Imagine : to get GIF support by switching instance, I would lo

Maybe they realized Mastodon has no real migration from one instance to another, ant that it's been a criticized limitation since 2019. Edit : people answering my message probably think as I did that Mastodon enables messages migration

Huge difference though : one person with a car and some energy can panoramax-map most of a city in one day. The same cannot be said of one person in one day for mapping the data on OSM. Expect Panoramax to grow way faster than OSM :)

The team behind Panoramax is already applying AI analysis. See e.g. https://forum.openstreetmap.fr/t/detection-des-stationnement... Most Panoramax discussions are in French, but you'll find links to English code.

That's wrong. France's electricity is 70 % nuclear, on plants that were never built during a dictatorship phase.

> Or they were—costs are so high now that we don‘t even build plants anymore. That's factually wrong. France has a program of nuclear building. We don't build a lot of plants in Europe, but we do.
