Cups are not cleaned? I guess whether it looks more mature is truly a cultural thing. In most of the world, straws are strongly associated with children. But maybe in your society, they're not. You may argue that the plastic top cups l

Maybe I'm sheltered but I'm baffled by all of these replies. Is this a US thing? At least in Europe and East-Asia, it's unheard of for any nice restaurant to have straws except for kids. And it's not like women there don

Drinking from a straw at a nice sitdown restaurant doesn't look any more or less mature (since that seems to be what you're getting at?) than drinking out of the modern cup meant to be used without a straw. Cup contamination? Do y

This is already the case for e.g. gambling ads in certain countries. Recently I saw the first website that was basically begging the user to "please be honest" on the age popup, indicating a good number of people have caught on to

I'm building a product that requires complex LLM flows and out of OpenAI's "cheap" tier models, the old versions of Turbo-3.5 are far better than the last versions of it and 4o-mini. I have a number of tasks that the fo

Agree with this take, though in an even broader way; they're optimizing for the leaderboards and benchmarks in general. Longer outputs lead to better scores on those. Even in this thread I see a lot of comments bring them up, so it wor

AI (of the type that OpenAI is doing) already is a commodity. right now. So the question would be "what makes you think AI will stop being a commodity?".

That's nothing new. Actual humans have been writing businessy LinkedIn posts this way long before GPT-3 came out. I'd even say such posts are even more awful than what GPT produces by default.

It's becoming rather common. Saw it on LinkedIn a couple of days ago by someone posting an image of a job application, accusing it of using ChatGPT when it clearly wasn't. Incredibly ironic. People who couldn't even tell apar

This is very specifically about Tesla, not electric cars in general. The biggest issues that Hertz is seeing are particular to the models they bought, early Tesla Model 3's, not the fact that they're electric in itself.

Lying in public seems like it would include "lying to investors", no? Sure, lying at the water cooler doesn't matter. But the Solarwinds case seems to be about lying on their website.

Could you explain how else it would possibly work? How would someone prove that they were mislead by this? Me: I read their diversity statement and was mislead by it. Them: Nuh-uh, you didn't!

This is simply because it has become second (or rather, first) nature for companies to lie about everything. Stop lying, and there's no more securities fraud. Be honest.
