The X360 controller is/was the gold standard, the XBONE controller has more mixed reviews. I personally prefer Sony's DS4 to the XBONE controller (for next-gen controllers). But I still keep an X360 controller around.

"NSX is getting strong traction" With fewer than 500 paying customers, I don't see how you can describe NSX as having "strong traction".

The recent removal of the system tray icon is anti-user. It provided users with easy access to Play/Pause from the system tray, but that meant users spent less time in the app, so the system tray icon was removed completely.

(disclaimer, former NetApp and Nimble VAR) NetApp is beat regularly for being too slow to new markets. Compellent was beating them in deals every day with Automated Storage Tiering (AST) and NetApp didn't respond (Compellent was acquir

Yeah, my sentiment on this acquisition is "one company I like/use buying another company I like/use, I hope it goes well". I switched to Authy when Google Auth 'forgot' all my tokens in one of its updates (whic

I wrote for WoW Insider for several years, and still keep in touch with the writers there. I would recommend following Alex and Adam on Twitter for more information on what (might) be coming after the official closure next week.

There are some great hyper-local sites. There was one I loved in Santa Barbara ( http://www.edhat.com ) that focused on hyper-local news. They would track police scanners, daily papers, hold events/contests (name that place!)

No, I haven't seen any vomiting. I was worried about that since I was breaking up the pill (and it smells awful) but my vet said it was fine since it is supposed to be chewable. I always serve it right after a full meal (usually the mo

Trifexis is awesome and what I use for my active dog (and we have never had flea problems). The problem is that the pill smells very, very strongly of mold. I have to smash up the pill and mix it into peanut butter for my dog to even look a

The way that I've tried to explain/understand the Monty Hall problem is to expand it to 100 doors. You're allowed to pick 1 door out of 100. Your chance of being correct is 1%. Then, the host gives you the option of swapping

There was also some work by Bungie earlier this year to keep Halo PC (11 years old) online after GameSpy shut down. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-05-12-bungie-to-updat... (disclaimer: I work for Bungie, but no

With StartSSL, you can actually generate your own key via OpenSSL (and you should) and then use that instead of doing it in the browser.

I use a similar style of writing, including slashed 7s. I wish I could find a nice monospaced font with slashed 7s and 0s, etc.

It is relatively easy to trace who injected new BGP routes though, versus a DDoS from a botnet of machines that are difficult to link to an individual.

If it was a StartSSL security leak, then I would expect them to give away revocations for free. But if YOU, the customer, leaked your own private key by running some bad software? That's simply not their fault, nor their problem.
