This article is a little weird. First we have this guy, who despite his experience "makes" the mistake of saying he can show something on the whiteboard. Why is that a mistake? And then we have this guy Bob - he coaches people wha

Looking at this project, what I'm most amazed by is how the author of the presentation on the frontpage only made one typo the entire presentation. I mean, that's amazing :)

My guess is, that you redefine them to mean the semantically same in a new domain. What I mean is that gg and G lets you go to the top of the file and to the bottom of the file, right? But on the command-line, what is the top of your file?

I'm not sure what your site is about. Looking at it right now, nothing really is stated about the numbers who called. It's a lot of empty fields and "unknown"s. I can't see why Google would penalize you like this un

Exactly. And I feel this graph gives an idea of what the tendencies for a language is, and then you can research the context. You can glimpse a lot of fun things from this graph.

Let's turn it around. If they (WB) feel like they didn't buy it all, they shouldn't have the intellectual property to make a movie based on the book. Seeing it this way, they never bought anything.

So OK - much of these things sounds crazy. But it's a free service and if you don't really care if Facebook tracks you or your web-surfs, I don't really see how it matters. All these "Get off Facebook, they are doing a l

I'm a referring the guys paper, which is linked here in the comments somewhere. There TLA+ is mentioned which is a tool to formally prove something. The same can be done in Coq - which is why I'm drawing a parallel.

I just finished a course in Coq - it was pretty fun. Seems like something of the same the guys paper is about.

How do we know how big a percentage of Tor traffic is child porn? Who logs that traffic? Also, this is definitely one of the reason I can't see myself using Tor. If I were to be a proxy for something like this :(

I'm not too convinced about the urgency of the issue, especially after reading the article. They are drawing an arbitrary line between sharing a joke without credit and plagiarism. It might just be me, but when my friends tell me a jok

Why? Does it matter whether or not people can see if you have read their message? I will answer your question when I have time, and if you're on my friends list I guess you should know me well enough to know that.

LinuxMint has been delivering a good alternative to Ubuntu for a while now. But I feel a lot of LinuxMint users are using it for the simple fact that it isn't Ubuntu, because running Ubuntu isn't hip anymore.

In a perfect world people would know what they were talking about. But unfortunately that is rarely the case. Being a buzzword jockey goes mostly unpunished today, so people just keep going with it.
