their IaaS system. it hangs. this gives very bad CI pipelines that you have to surveil. also it makes, eg. Github actions, insanely expensive as they are billed. per. minute, and render can hang upwards of hours or unbound if not stopped.

I have assessed Render a couple of times for work. Both. times they were just too unstable for production (in 2020 and in 2023)

so, you use the scientific community and consensus to lead your experimentation efforts? sure, why not. luckily, not everybody does that, otherwise we would not have superseded the Newtonian era. which is what the main post is about: we need

convincing other people that you are right is fundamentally politics. Not science. good science has objective criteria and does not require political justification.

when research is independent self funded, the direction is set by yourself. When financing come from an independent fond, the board of that fond according to the purpose.

Independent fonds would be a big one. Otherwise, independent researchers that finance their own research (In the case of the LK-99 research many lists had independent researchers names with Twitter links where they publish their research).

My impression is that TSMC is a Taiwanese company, why this would not be onshoring, but offshoring . The more appropriate term is probably foreign direct investment (FDI) in Germany from TSMC. I find it funny that western people have iss

EU has harmonised the mobile network market meaning that you can basically call cross borders as if it was a single market. Anyhow, I don't know of any single country in the EU that has issues with robocalls.

I don't know how this related to robocall, but I like the question! I can only answer for Denmark, but there we have a thing called "ratepension" which I think is similar to a 401k. Retirement age in Denmark is 73 and the pub

I have never heard about anybody in Europe getting robocalls. It was a completely foreign concept for me before I hear about Americans getting them.

While that would be a solution, it appears to be a solved problem. Neither my Portugese, nor my Danish number receives any robocalls. Frinds with US numbers get a lot of robocalls, though.

It always dissonates with me when people talk about animals being destructive. I don't really think it is our's to judge. I do, however, understand why it makes sense to keep some animals out of ones home.
