If you do hacks then its absolutely ok (for me at least). (I'm the author of the last comment in your linked thread). The idea is to take a font and modify it by stripping all the hinting info.

ah, but it is a passphrase, not a password. Limiting phrases to exactly 26 chars doesn't seem that big anymore.

I love it how they never really say that Android == Google in the article and instead play it like the Youtube apps were somehow made by iPhone and Android OS/platform engineers.

looks like they are doing it in javascript with data:image/png;base64 urls. Not sure if the blurs are precomputed/stored or computed in the browser.

TCP means that it shouldn't be corrupt. I would like the feature of having MD5 hash of the data sent so far though, with this the clients would be able to validate that the data up to N bytes is most likely not corrupt.

If I remember correctly then it can also run Android apps in the same WM together with other apps. It actually shouldn't be too hard to replace Android's WindowManager with some other implementation (say, QT-based) due to the nature of Bind

aren't both of these sample images scaled down? Unless one sees the actual raw screenshots (640x960 and 320x480) one can't really tell if there are inaccuracies or not. Also, if the @2x version has 1px features then these will definitely be

I thought that piracy in multiplayer games was a solved problem these days. Even the first Half-Life (1998!) had an online authenticity check.
