I usually write HTML directly. The HTML tags aren't that different from other markups - just slap a wrapper around them, and you're good. Well structured HTML can also be easily converted to text, which will be easier to read than most mark

I switched to http://duckduckgo.com/ a while ago, and haven't regretted it since. Though, I still use google services (mail, calendar, docs, etc) - just not their search.

Depends on what you consider "programming". Myself, I consider myself doing programming even if I delegate a lot of stuff to others. That way, I get to do the interesting bits, while my minions do the monkey-work. That way, I can't ever ima

That's pretty much correct. I'm not a lawyer, either, mind you, but that has been my understanding =)

Yes, you get to pick one. And no, you don't have to notify anyone, or do anything else than that. You pick the license of your choice, and use the plugin according to that license.

jQuery is dual-licensed under the MIT and GPL licenses - you can choose whichever you want. If you want your code to be closed source, you want the MIT license. You do not have to do anything about that - you can safely use it without any f

My first milestone was to write a C+4 basic program alone, without my father's help. My first program was a little dancing stick figure, which my father helped me to write when I was about 6. I wrote my first program without assistance (it

Whatever you choose, stay clear of Solaris. Especially OpenSolaris (that's a dead-end). If you're unfamiliar with both, Linux systems are easier to get used to, in my experience.

While it probably won't help you now, a tip for the future: register with a 'throw-away' email address. I usually use username+website@example.com - and once I unsubscribe or delete my registration, I just mark everything coming to username

Check this one out: http://www.html5video.org/kaltura-html5/ This is supposed to work in all browsers (fallback to flash & all). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTML5_video also has a few interesting links for various solutions.

WordPress - in my experience - is easier to deal with, while Drupal is a more complete solution, but with a steeper learning curve. If I were you, I'd go with WordPress.

As long as it benefits you in one way or the other, I'd keep it going. Once it becomes a burden, without any benefit (be that statisfaction from having a user base, or monetary gains or whatever else), then it's time to let go.
