In the Radar Man book I read, he said it’s primary mission was to take out a Soviet, radar controlled anti-aircraft gun, which I believe was called the Buzz Saw. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07932Z7WV/ref=nodl_?tag=d

The 256 bit encryption is no good when they zip tie you to a chair and cut off body parts until you give up the passphrase.

This should, at least the last time I used it: https://github.com/DSheirer/sdrtrunk I wrote this parallel scanner. I had tried incorporating DSD, but couldn’t handle more than 2 streams. Though that was several years

Agreed. I can’t reply to the child comment, but school infrastructure is usually funded with bonds (at least around here).

It's been shown to have no benefit when someone is near-dead from COVID. Don't 80% of people on ventilators die anyway? So ventilators have no benefit. From what I have been reading, the drug does have benefit when used as a pr

I have a 2465B (400 MHz analog) that I re-capped a few years ago. What a great scope.

The collect musical taste of the world is garbage. At least everything I played today was written in the 19th century. I’m pretty sure it’s been going down hill since then.

I was in the same predicament when a student. They said they’d give me my pick of scope if I went through a checked out the other 20 that were to be sold. 30 years later I still have that 20 MHz Tek scope.

Back in high school, in 1989, we got a tour of a GE light bulb factory (closed now since 2010 when they outsourced to China). It was interesting as the machinery looked to be early 20th century, but retrofitted as needed with modern PLC.

Of course not, but if I inject you with 2 L of peanut oil, it will kill you. If I do the same at 1 ml to 2000 people, maybe the statistics work out so a single, hyper-allergic person is dead. That’s all the linear approximation is saying,

My kids have been having their music lessons (cello & viola) remotely since the quarantine. For the advanced student, I can see 50% of lessons workable as remote, but not more than that. My kid may switch to every other lesson remote

I can’t recall the name of the principle, or the exact dose, but isn’t 1 Sv enough to cause a 50% death probability from radiation sickness, and 3 Sv enough to cause a cancer? There is a good youtube series (IIRC nuclear policy course at M

I use some engineering software that uses Intel Math Kernel Libraries. It is 30% faster on an Intel CPU, versus AMD with equivalent speed/cores.

The software I use, uses between 2 and 4 cores. I’d say 70% of the time it’s 1 core. Thus these new processors with 5.3 GHz on a single core should work well. I also have another application that can use 8, with diminishing returns past

Watch some of the Air Safety Institute videos on YouTube. I believe 90% of general aviation accidents are VFR rated pilots flying into IMC (i.e. flying into clouds).

I’m more interested in the Xeon W-1260P, which seems to be an i9-10900K with ECC enabled. It should work very well for my engineering software (which uses Intel math libraries that are slow on AMD). Hopefully they come out with it soon.

Have you actually seen disabled PIN pads? I have seen places refusing cash (which I believe is illegal), but the PIN pads are easily wiped down between uses.
