"One way to practice kindness is by being generous about your partner’s intentions." This stands out to me as being profoundly true about all relationships. Communication is hard. We humans are powerful storytellers so we tend to

I love this stuff. If this is "thinking geometrically" how does that compare to other forms of problem solving?

I wish the demo video had actually been a demo. They typed nonsense on the real keyboard and then flailed similarly with the AirType.

I actually really liked Marco Arment's take on this. http://www.marco.org/2014/04/04/political-views As time marches forward our society's tolerance for certain viewpoints has changed. This is a goo

The reason security will drive the adoption of a new OS is that little else will drive people away the current ones. In a future where our current architecture is being constantly exploited, then security will finally matter enough to drive

"The need which will drive new OS adoption is security." Regardless as to wether or not Ethos is the next widespread OS, that line rings very true.

Google+ really doesn't get retweeting, does it. That whole post is written by someone who isn't the one in the photos at the top. A single "originally shared" link points to the original. Retweeting was a genius move by

Groundhog Day is one of my favorite films of all time. I think it's really Important that when trapped in his lonely cycle Murray finally settles on taking care of others as perfectly as he can. Beautiful.

Yeah, I felt like you could consider the novel without the class system and it would be more interesting.

What made Brave New World far more interesting to me than 1984 is that the bad guys in 1984 are really clearly bad guys who hide behind an impossibly thin veneer of public mindedness in order to live exactly as grandly as they want whereas

I think that, in America at least, one of the few professions where this truly is alive and well is medicine. After four years of training you become a Doctor, but then you spend the next 3-5 years as a resident before you start to actually

The point is not about wether it is better or worse than iOS from 6 years ago, that parent probably believes it is better than that, but the problem is that the choice today is about BB10 or iOS 7. It's competing against todays phones,

East of Eden is my favorite book I've read in the last several years. Beautiful end to end and very moral. If you've read it it's totally worth reading Journal of a Novel: a collection of letters Steinbeck wrote to his editor

A fun rebuttal to her work (I've read Atkas Shrigged twice and find her deeply flawed but still interesting in some ways) is Sewer Gas and Electric by Matt Ruff. It's very fun silly sci fi.
