Interesting. It looks like a variant or an object whose type list is only known at runtime. What I have in mind is a language able to convert functions calls from dynamic to static (and the opposite). If the compiler can infer the type, the

I think OOP (precisely inheritence) makes programming more difficult even if OOP works for 80% of the cases. The last 20% are impossible to handle with that pattern and make a class hierarchy unstable. I think Smalltalk is the most producti

Terry Davis (who did http://www.templeos.org/ ) is the smartest programmer I know but he doesn't work. He is currently homeless and needs your help: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?token=51kJATJUJxik

Both static and dynamic typing are useful. They should be available in the same language but that language doesn't exist yet.

Programming doesn't scale well. My experience is Javascript and even PHP scale better than C++. I do a lot of type checking and I don't use OOP features.

You're dishonest. The goal is to measure productivity.

You're talking about you and your opinions. For a given task, random programmers are quicker at achieving the goal with dynamic programming languages. That's why scripting languages are popular. They are also easier to learn.

It's about productivity not correctness.

The one I've seen with smalltalk shows that clearly. I'll repost it if I can find it. IMO about smalltalk, it's not just because of dynamic typing but also because of the builtin IDE, VM and DB.

Javascript is one the most used language. Even HN uses it a bit.

It is faster in real life when you include compiletimes.

It is known by studies. People are more comfortable and productive with dynamically typed languages. The most productive language is smalltalk.

Node because dynamic typing is easier to work with and it's nearly as fast as a compiled language. I'd just recommend to avoid npm.

I always reply to offensive people. Someone who is offensive has no arguments. Saying him he is offensive is often enough. If there is a public (like here) people will understand who is insulting who. You're looking for a way to be les

You should read it. It includes words that are politically connoted. Those words can easily be leveraged by people who are in that domain. It's not about common sense. You don't need to tell people to be polite (and you shouldn&#x

I do that for "CoCs" because I find that harmful. It is harmful for everyone and especially for the ones that are claimed to be helped. My point of view is the one of Morgan Freeman (something like "stop talking about it you

I don't want to deal with that. They are able to create problems artificially just to get power over you (on controversial topics). IMHO people to avoid.

I come from c++ too. My js looks like that: https://p.sicp.me/h5pxz.js The best author about JS imho is 2ality (someone mentionned it already). My advice is to avoid npm and frameworks. Write plain JS.

I imagine software isolated in vms. Many people could do the same thing or overlap with someone's else project. It would allow projects to compete.
