Sign me up. I'll gladly be in the human trials for this. The potential benefits to society are huge . Economic impact: How many people each year have to take time off work because they're sick with the flu? Societal impact: how m

Nah, I just live in a very walkable area of Toronto and use my car maybe once a week at most, and then just to get groceries. Otherwise, I use transit and walk everywhere. Driving to the library would be more of a hassle than just walking.

Often when I read about physics like this, I'm reminded that there are two possibilities: Either there is no practical way for a human to ever travel faster than light; or there is . Both possibilities are fascinating. (And yes I know

Exactly. Many of these people may have twice that amount in credit card debt. And while it's great to pay that down, it won't change much immediately.

A fun side effect of all of this: if you believe in the court's ability to force Musk to buy Twitter, you should continue to buy up stock until it reaches the price Musk agreed to pay for it. If you don't believe he'll be for

I think the next step after reading that material is to just get experience in it. Consider applying to some software companies that are massive in scale. AWS, GCloud, Azure, Netflix. People whose systems need good design. Once you get in

Interestingly, TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) which many people on HN would recognize, is a publicly traded company- yet something like 70% of it's shares are owned by Tata Group, and it's a massive part of their income.
