The difference between multi-sig and no private key is that the former is an implementation of the blockchain protocol (e.g. different in Stellar and Ethereum) while the latter is a generic algorithm/service. Different layer.

Probably international. I see this kind of gap regularly when comparing buying from Amazon v.s. directly from the supplier. Internet stores are surprisingly bad (for whatever reason) at pricing international shipping competitively.

I did and I loved every moment of it :) Also in meatspace, enjoyed Bletchley Park in the UK. Re: books, I liked Robert X. Cringley's Accidental Empires, but it covers only until 91 (or 93 if IIRC for the 2nd edition) of the PC industry
