Same here. Started as junior (with 7 years programming experience from school) with a few other juniors at a company working on a new product without any senior developers anymore. It sure was a little rough sometimes and we sure made our f

I like this, even though the UI is shit as it lies to me. The important fact is, if you really want to disable WIFI or Bluetooth, you can still do so from the settings (not control center). This is mentioned at the bottom of the article.

Me too I had a Series 0. Then the battery inflated and cracked the display open about 3 months ago. Would have been about 200$ to repair, as it's out of warranty. Luckily I called Apple Care, explained the situation and got a free repl

My wife ordered one, upgrading from her first gen model. The single biggest reason is GPS tracking while running without being forced to carry her iPhone 6S Plus. And the (much) improved battery life over her first gen model. She ordered th

I share your pain! I have a Dell XPS15 (i7 4K 9550) at work and Macs (rMBP and iMac) at home. Me too I was hoping to finally get a PC that was of similar quality, given that it is just as expensive as the rMBP. But boy was I wrong! Of cours

Have a look at Visual Studio Code too. It's free and (in my experience) quicker than Atom. However, both VS Code and Atom stand no chance against ST regarding startup time. Thus I keep coming back to ST.

Finally! I was using Build 3126 just about 2 hours ago and thinking that I haven't seen an update in a looong time. And there it is now. Congratulations to the team at Sublime HQ. Keep up the great work!

Funny, lovage (which they mention near the end) is or was quite common here in Switzerland. My mother used it a lot while my generation uses it a lot less already. Still have some in the garden though.

Sorry to object, but: Switzerland is a rich country with more iPhones then Android phones (until recently that is). Apple Maps is definitely not on par with Google Maps here.

I occasionally use Apple Maps while driving because of the nice integration. But then you can't see the current song anymore! Is anyone at Apple using this??? I can't believe they didn't consider this and use a small portion

Apple Maps also has this nice button to direct you to the nearest gas station. Unfortunately it doesn't know all gas stations so in Switzerland you'll get results that are too far away, when the next station would be just nearby

Full ACK, the search should be contextual, but I get US results in Switzerland! Or when I search for "Train station", then I expect it to suggest me the closest ones until I continue refining my search. But I get results from othe

Switzerland here. Apple Maps is still pretty bad compared to Google Maps. While Apple Maps is indeed usable, Google Maps is just so much better. Recently I searched for a train station like "Bahnhof Flamatt" and Apple Maps gave

It hurts to lose 'Self-Destructing Cookies'. What a great piece of software! It was marked as being incompatible with FF 55+ and e10s. See https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/self-destruct

The requirement was FireWire. Me and my brother both had iPods synchronizing with our Windows PC through a Creative Labs SoundBlaster Live sound card with FireWire using the MusicMatch software distributed by Apple with the iPod.

Great work, but unfortunately I had to restart 3 times as the partial update failed and the full update had to be applied. I'm sure this could be done automatically without asking the user to restart 2 more times, right?

Great to see the "major" city of Aventicum indirectly mentioned on HN :-) We can still enjoy the amphitheatre for open air concerts and opera.

Same thing here. I don't care about Android development, just about Xamarin for iOS and Mac and .NET Core. I cancelled the installation as it tries to install some Java and Android SDK which I don't want. Better luck next time

The bigger news and unfortunatly hidden behind an innocent blog title about SP1 for SQL Server 2016 is that now all the features of Enterprise Edition are available on all editions of SQL Server! See my commit here: https://new

SP1 seems to kill the editions. All features are now available in all editions, including Express Edition. Thus the explanation marks in the blog title are very accurate :-)

So why not switching these two, putting the vote arrow on the right and the collapse button on the left? The tree controls I know all work that way that the collapse button is on the left.

It's especially about expertise. These guys work in teams and move from one tunnel project to the other. You can't just hire inexperienced work force for such projects.
