A car is a >=$500/month headache. The "high end" scooters cost $300-500 and are small enough to fit in your closet. Anyone who plans on using one regularly will be better off buying one. Lyft/Uber cars are reliable an

Was about to come in here and ask what will prevent people from just testing out the scooters then buying their own for $300 if they like the experience. I live in a smallish apartment in NYC and don't have room for a bike so city bike

Rekognition crawled and annotated millions of images of different celebrities to train their face recognition model. Once you have an accurate model for a lot of classes it's much easier to add new ones with just a few samples.

It's a feature you'll probably end up using all the time without even noticing it. I just wrote a class to keep track of changes to an object using proxies yesterday. That way you can pass an object to a form, modify it in place a

It probably took a week just to put together this post. I bet it's great for recruiting though. Kind of like google letting researchers waste half their time writing papers and going to conferences.

I made an app that uses computer vision to help people track what they eat with computer vision. I'd love to have these if they opened up an API so that we could make the experience 100% passive. Right now our users still have to pull

A good way to get around the long iteration cycles is to develop on subsets of the data or simpler tasks. With computer vision you can either start with something like MNIST (which might not always be ideal because you'll need to adjus

I just work from home most days now because of how bad it has gotten. I had to move back to Queens a few months ago near where I grew up and the trip to SoHo that used to take at most 45 minutes is now 60-90 min. A few times I was stuck on

Yes, I just stated the fact that zone defense is much more common in college basketball and that it might explain the disparity in shooting percentages at different distances. Zone was forbidden in the NBA for a long time and, as you said,

We're building a food/nutrition knowledge graph. Goal is to be able to take a product, recipe or restaurant dish that someone ate and determine what type of food it is, cuisine, ingredients, dietary properties and etc.
