I wonder if Cuomo and De Blasio will try to save face by letting other companies bid on the space instead.

Having a CS degree from a top school on my resume has opened a ton of doors for me so I'd say it was worth it. I have high school friends who ended up getting CS degrees from state schools with pretty good GPAs who couldn't get in

I got into an ivy league school and ended up going there because I was offered a fairly generous financial aid package. Then in my final year my grants went from covering 80% of my tuition to practically 0 because my father was working 80 h

They've spent the last year fudging their metrics with the new design to make this happen. The infinite scroll and image first post layout has ruined the quality of the content.

All of those things are used daily by billions of people around the world. Google sells their translation system through Google cloud, so does AWS and a bunch of other NLP startups.

Most modern NLP methods are built on top of word embeddings, things like Neural Machine Translation, text classification and etc all convert input words into word embeddings then stack a neural networks on top of it.

It's great but can be a pain if you develop on a mac and try to replicate your env on linux because the env files are not portable. The CLI can be confusing at times too, I always have to google how to create a new env or export it.

How is it forcing code review on you? I do agree that having things tied to a commit might not be ideal if you're running a lot of experiments in a large shared codebase. I've been tempted to use git to version my model runs but a

Amazon makes a lot of sense. They're trying to get into advertising and they could turn Snapchat into a shopping lens. ALexa, AWS and Twitch would play with it nicely too.

I agree with this. As a software engineer from Queens I think Amazon moving in is great but the bidding process and subsidies that came out of it are upsetting. New York would have had no issues filling up that space without giving out hand

The "T" in ETL is important here. You might not care but the end users of that data should. It's very easy to take raw data and strip it of a lot of useful information by transforming and normalizing it. The person doing mode

I'm aware of all of the flask inspired async micro frameworks. By django like I meant a batteries included framework with an integrated async ORM, auth, DRF and etc. From what I've seen we'll probably have to wait for django

I blame freakonomics. It's a great podcast (and book) but it occasionally pushes some shoddy science. Also, TED and TEDx for popularizing pseudo intellectual garbage. https://www.vox.com/science-and-health/2018
