One of my ideas for a toy project is Schrödinger´s Chess or perhaps Quantum Chess: when you move a piece, you can move it to any and all possible squares at the same time - your piece is on all of the squares you've placed it, so in yo

Related: what's the current best option for those of us who like old UniFi's ease of use, but don't like new Unifi's "use our cloud, or else..." attitude and the constant firmware issues?

I recently learned of a similar thing that I’ll be trying out with my kids. It’s not open source though, and they’re currently running a crowd funding thing to raise money for further development: https://www.rpginabox.com/

Per-platform pricing is easy: just release the Mac version on Gog, the PC verson on Steam, the Linux version on … EA? Then you can set separate prices for each :)

Ah, so it's "initial window size" than than "ping round trip". Interesting. The RFC they reference doesn't seem to be elevated to official standard, and it appears different OSes have different default values.

Sure, but if I don't know what they're changing it's hard to know if I want to cancel or not.

This is a nice tool to see what's actually changed, useful! Also, I don't understand how it's not a legal requirement to show an easy to understans view of the changes made when a company changes the terms of your agreement w

My Spanish isn't perfect, but the suggestion text "hombres denudos xxx" seems like it might not be to everyone's liking. Too bad they don't have a Swedish site, I'm curious what they'd come up with for us!

Then you can't edit or view it in a normal text editor, which is part of the appeal of CSV.

It's cultural of course, but the funny thing is that kinda-insects are already culturally accepted food in the west – but only ones from the sea such as shrimp, crabs, etc.

Hopefully you have another heating system that's more efficient than direct electricity, though!

While an IR camera is a good tool (and terribly fun to use!), not everyone has one. Almost everyone has another tool that can be nearly as efficient though: a hand. It's quite easy to use too: if something is warm when you touch it, it

Yes, it’s a shame that there are only two 5K 27” displays to choose from, and both are expensive. The industry has dropped the ball on this for years, all those 32” 4K screens may be cheap but they’re no use to me…

Well, you can just comment out the garbage you create to match the hash so that's not a big problem in the case of source code. Creating a correct binary file may or may not be a bigger problem, depending on the file format.

It's very common in Sweden to heat single family houses this way (300k installations). It costs about 15k EUR to install, and according to ads can lower you heating costs by "up to 80%".

In my opinion there's an interesting middle ground, where you don't have comments but allow (moderated) linkbacks (I forget the name of the modern variant of this…) from other blog posts mentioning yours.
