It'd be quite possible for a JIT to have the memory first writable but not executable when creating the code, then the other way around when running it. No need to be both at the same time.

Using un-paired BLE devices you can do things such as adhoc mesh networking, which isn't possible with "old" Bluetooth. That's kind of cool, and possibly useful. I agree that general Bluetooth usability could be improved

despite the hype BLE turns out to be a niche technology with poor capabilities and questionable benefits. While I agree that beacons are over-hyped, I think it's worth pointing out that BLE does other things that I think are more use

It seems like a strange match to use LwIP (which is optimzed for small size to run on embedded systems) with a kernel optimized for speed. I'm guessing that a different IP stack would perform better, given the different constraints on

With iOS, Apple provides a service that event sources push their messages to, and a single TCP connection is maintained with the device regardless of the number of event sources. Google has something similar, if not identical.

Yes, and it has to maintain TCP connections with every push source you've registered, including re-connecting whenever your network situation changes. IMHO, this will lead to a lot of wasted bandwidth. Might not be a problem on desktop

If you out your videos in a Quicktime .MOV file, you can put the intro in a separate file too, which can be placed anywhere (I think relative paths work too), you can even put a URL in there to load it from a server somewhere. Alternately,

At least in Sweden, robot vacuum cleaners and lawn mowers have been mainstream tech for years. It's not just some enthusiast thing, a large portion of house owners have these things.

If you think I’m exaggerating… just ask yourself… what other Apple API’s or Microsoft API’s get their own brand logo? For Apple, pretty much all of them. SceneKit, SpriteKit, HealthKit, CloudKit, … The list is long.

Same here; I stopped using ad blockers a long time ago since click-to-plugin performs the essential function they were providing for me. Perhaps I'll reconsider when "HTML5" ads get more annoying/use more resources.
